Jökulsárlón, Iceland by Miles Storey

Jökulsárlón is a deep glacial lake in southeast Iceland formed by the retreating glacier, Breiðamerkurjökull. The lagoon is full of ice blocks calved from the face of the glacier that drift in the cold water, slowly melting until they’re small enough to make their way along a channel that leads to the Atlantic.
The lake is silent except for the sounds of creaking ice and sea birds calling as they whirl overhead. Occasionally the peace is shattered by an echoing crack as a piece of ice splits apart and splashes into the water, turning over to reveal an underbelly of blue ice.
